About this event
A world-class violinist, a Midwest premiere, and the symphony that changed music forever.
One of the world's great violinists comes to Sioux City. Grammy Award winner James Ehnes brings his famously pure tone to Beethoven's radiant Violin Concerto, on a night that opens with Anna Clyne's Woman of the Mountain — a Midwest premiere co-commissioned by your Symphony — and closes with the Eroica, the symphony that broke every rule of its time and still sounds like a revolution.
Programme:
Anna Clyne - Woman of the Mountain (Midwest Premiere, SCSO co-commission)
Ludwig van Beethoven - Violin Concerto in D Major (James Ehnes, violin)
Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Eroica
Performers:
Violin - James Ehnes
Music Director - Ryan Haskins
