- ➤ A union official said Tuesday that roughly 120 workers from the Tyson plant in Lexington, Neb. are planning to take jobs at Dakota City's Tyson beef plant — local Somalis are helping welcome the relocating workers. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ The Sioux City school board plans to name an interim superintendent soon to focus on hiring a permanent leader. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ Sioux City Schools announced that Associate Superintendent Angela Bemus is on medical leave, and Jim Vanderloo will oversee district operations effective immediately. Sioux City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Justin DeWolf, the only mechanic at Sioux City Fire Rescue, has kept emergency vehicles running at Fire Station 1 for five years by handling routine repairs and odd challenges (like fixing frayed seat belts). He travels to Minneapolis yearly for training to help ensure readiness for emergencies. KTIV
