- ➤ Longtime golf course builders Marty and Bobbi Johnson were honored by the Golf Course Builders Association of America on Friday in South Sioux City for building over 300 courses in nine states since 1964—efforts that have given more people a chance to play golf. - ➤ The Siouxland Salvation Army offered meals to blizzard-affected families in Onawa Friday at the Onawa City Community Center. The center served lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. with 250 meals available at each service for families from Onawa, Blencoe and Whiting. SiouxlandProud

- ➤ Sioux City police said that David Munoz Romo, 58, died when his Toyota Rav4 collided head on with a Honda on I-29 at about 5:26 a.m. while he was driving north in the southbound lanes. Sioux City Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley said lawmakers are taking extra time on a major property tax reform that is designed to save $400 million and limit annual tax increases—public meetings on the plan have not been held yet. Grassley said it is too early to tell if the bill will pass this year and that further talks may stretch the process into next year. KTIV
