- ➤ Siouxland Freedom Park volunteers will host a free dinner Saturday, March 29 at the Scottish Rite at 801 Douglas Street where doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. The eighth annual event honors Vietnam War veterans, all other veterans, and active servicemembers—non-military guests may make a free will donation to support the park’s mission. - ➤ The Community Action Agency of Siouxland is accepting LIHEAP applications until April 30 to help families pay their winter utility bills—extra state funding has sped up processing after delays caused by a new state system. KTIV

- ➤ Hernandez entered Hayes' home armed with knives to steal back a stolen firearm Hayes had and was sentenced to federal prison for his role in a fatal Sioux City shooting — the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ Sioux City Council moved forward a proposal to sell land for a new baseball and softball training facility. The council also unanimously approved first, second and third consideration for rezoning a 104-year-old apartment building (red-tagged after a 2022 fire). Sioux City Journal
- ➤ The Iowa Senate passed a bill that requires Medicaid and public assistance recipients to work at least 80 hours per month to keep their benefits—an effort aimed at increasing self-reliance.
