Good morning, Sioux City.

Today, over 3,000 people gathered at the downtown Convention Center for the 34th Siouxland Multi-Cultural Fair—80 booths offered food, music, and crafts—while reduced city funding for the human rights commission leaves the event's future uncertain.

Siouxland native Eric Van Wyk brings puppets to life for thousands of families with characters seen in shows such as Alice in Wonderland and Frozen—his work draws on early experiences in Ireton and study at Dordt University.

He worked at the Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis—creating original productions and urging young artists to follow their dreams.

The Iowa Legislature passed a bill that makes drivers use hands-free mode while driving and raises fines for holding a phone—now the law heads to Gov. Kim Reynolds for her approval without extra changes for some drivers.
