- ➤ Sleep in Heavenly Peace organized a reunion on Monday, March 31 between heart attack survivor Jay Schenzel and the volunteers Randy Kleinberg and Carl Peterson who performed CPR during his bed delivery when he collapsed. Schenzel, who spent 19 days in the hospital and underwent open heart surgery in Omaha, now calls them his brothers — a strong reminder of the impact quick, local help can have. KTIV

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Angela Bino, 60, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the Oct. 26 stabbing death of 77-year-old Suzette Occhibone at an apartment on Virginia St—she waived her right to a jury trial as her daughter was also arrested and the case continues in Woodbury County District Court. - ➤ Sioux City council approved a settlement that dismisses lawsuits between the city and River City Hospitality — allowing the city to purchase the marina for $300,000. Council also approved a property management agreement with F3 Marina — the contract starts today and runs until Jan. 31, 2028. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ The National Weather Service offices in Sioux Falls and Omaha have canceled upcoming storm spotter training sessions—canceling classes scheduled for April 1 in Norfolk, April 2 at Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City and April 29 in Norfolk—due to critical staffing shortages, while two virtual courses offered by the Sioux Falls office remain set for April 28 and April 30.
