- ➤ Siouxland Habitat for Humanity has opened its homeowner application process and applications are available today at its office, 1150 Tri View Ave. Sioux City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The sixth and final phase of the U.S.75 reconstruction project will begin later this month—southbound lanes between Hinton and Merrill will be closed for work, and drivers should follow posted detour signs. Officials plan to complete the work this summer to improve the route. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ The Iowa DOT said the ramp from westbound U.S. 20 to southbound I-29 will close for repairs Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.—motorists must use the Floyd Boulevard exit to return to southbound I-29. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ Sioux City council approved a plan to replace the water main on Fairmount Street from Leech Avenue to Gordon Drive. Work will begin June 9 and is expected to take 100 working days — the project prepares the area for planned detour routes during larger road projects. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ Sioux City today launched strategic plan surveys for residents and business owners to collect feedback on city services, infrastructure, public safety, economic growth and quality of life — the city will use responses to help shape future initiatives. Sioux City Journal
