- ➤ Longtime Junior League member and past president Katie Kruse was honored on the Top 40 Over 40 list by the Association of Junior Leagues International as announced by the Junior League of Sioux City this week—an award recognizing her valuable contributions. Sioux City Journal
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials are investigating a fire at a Sioux City pallet yard (the cause is not yet known). Sioux City Journal
- ➤ A semi pulling a grain trailer left the roadway near Fawn Avenue at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday and rolled into a ditch in Plymouth County—rescue crews freed the trapped driver, who was taken to a local hospital—and he later died. KTIV
- ➤ Fire crews from Dakota City, Sioux City, Sergeant Bluff, Ponca and Homer responded to a blaze at Meyer Mulch on Old Sawmill Road in South Sioux City at 6:30 p.m. that quickly consumed the business, and the Nebraska State Fire Investigator was called to help determine its cause while two firefighters were treated for nonlife threatening injuries. - ➤ Abdi, 22, of South Sioux City pleaded not guilty in Woodbury County District Court for the fatal shooting of Marlon White Eyes near 14th St on June 26th — surveillance footage shows he was the man in a black hoodie during an argument over a mistaken package — police said. Sioux City Journal
