  • Sioux City Police released graphic footage this week from a fatal February shooting where officers killed a man during a traffic stop — officials warn that the video contains sensitive content.  Sioux City Journal
  • Global protests at Tesla dealerships have involved vandalism and harassment labeled domestic terrorism by the FBI — yet Sioux City Tesla owner Aaron Hasse and nearby owners Reg and Rose Robertson report no issues at the local Casey’s charging station, noting that peaceful protests are acceptable but damaging property is not.  SiouxlandProud

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Friday morning via social media that she will not seek reelection in 2026—her current term ends in early January and she will focus on supporting her family, including 11 grandchildren, after nearly three decades in public service.  Sioux Country Radio

  • UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s partnered with Iowa Donor Network for a flag raising ceremony in April to celebrate Donate Life month and encourage community members to become organ donors. Officials said one donor can save up to eight lives—an impact that benefits donor families.  KTIV
