ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A grass fire blocked southbound I-29 near Salix on Saturday around 1 p.m.—the Iowa Department of Transportation said the closure stretched between Exit 27 and Exit 134 and Woodbury County Sheriff and Emergency Management reported multiple injuries.  SiouxlandProud

CULTURE NEWS

  • Morningside University’s campus radio station KMSC is taking part in Vinylthon—a 24-hour celebration of vinyl records happening this weekend in Sioux City. The event brings together local music fans to enjoy a day-long showcase of vinyl culture.  SiouxlandProud
  • KTIV, Siouxland’s trusted news source, was honored with seven Eric Sevareid Awards from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association for its work in areas such as documentary, general, and social media reporting—recognizing its strong local coverage.   • Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools held its annual auction this week and raised more than $1 million in total funds—one bronzed sculpture of Bishop R. Walker Nickless' praying hands sold for $70,000.  Sioux City Journal
