- ➤ A 26-year-old Sioux City resident with autism designed a baseball glove with Wilson Sporting Goods for the 'Love the Moment' campaign with Autism Speaks. The custom glove featuring his favorite shade of green is available today for local baseball fans. KTIV

- ➤ Gray Media said DISH Network removed KTIV and other Gray stations (after major events like the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl) more than a month ago over a dispute; KTIV remains available on other subscription services and viewers can help urge DISH to restore it. KTIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sioux City Community School District's board approved the FY27 budget on Monday (Apr. 13) with a maximum tax rate of $12.22 per $1,000 even though higher assessed values may keep taxes from dropping (last year's rate was $12.38). KTIV
- ➤ Sioux City Schools will lower the tax levy for the 2026-27 fiscal year to $12.22 per $1,000 assessed with a 4 percent income surtax — a drop from $12.38 today. Sioux City Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Iowa DNR warned residents to follow safe recycling practices during spring cleaning by using the (Never Burn List) to avoid releasing hazardous chemicals. They can dispose of unwanted items at RCCs, curbside pickups, or through the Iowa Waste Exchange. KTIV
- ➤ Severe weather on Monday, Apr. 13 produced hail damage in Remsen and Graettinger and a tornado was reported in a field in Webb — there was no major damage noted by the National Weather Service by Tuesday afternoon. KTIV
