- ➤ Woodbury County parks will open on May 1—allowing public access to campgrounds, cabins, restrooms, and shelters. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ Danbury farmer Seuntjens faces federal theft and fraud charges—he allegedly provided false eligibility information to secure thousands of dollars from a federal farming program. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ Sioux City Police Department and Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office say a body found in a field in rural Woodbury County on April 9 was positively identified as Joshua Eldridge—a 51-year-old man reported missing in November 2024 and last seen on October 31, with details on his death and the investigation remaining undisclosed. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Friday residents, businesses, schools and community groups joined Sioux City's Litter Dash to help clean up the city and reach a goal of collecting four to five tons of litter—600 volunteers cleaned different areas from noon to 3 p.m. The event was organized by Sioux City's Environmental Services. - ➤ Strong storms moved through Iowa Thursday night into Friday morning and caused widespread damage to Storm Lake with downed power lines, fallen trees, and debris blocking roads. Emergency crews and utility teams worked to assess the damage and restore power while advising residents to avoid hazards. SiouxlandProud

- ➤ A portion of Stone Park Boulevard will be closed temporarily Monday — drivers are advised to use 26th Street to the south or 29th Street to the north. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ Stone Park Boulevard in Sioux City will be closed on Monday, April 21 from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. to allow crews to remove trees between Douglas Street and Pierce Street—drivers are advised to use 26th Street or 29th Street as alternate routes. SiouxlandProud
