- ➤ Sioux City mental health counselor Hecht received probation after investigators found he created 261 false records by entering fake data and submitting fraudulent claims for 12 Foundations Mental Health Center patients + his actions were linked to theft and fraud. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ On Monday night, the Sioux City Community School District approved union-negotiated wage increases for teachers and staff — the decision came after contract talks with the union. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ City council members in North Sioux City are reviewing two three-year flood protection proposals for McCook Lake led by Stockwell Engineers and are planning a homeowner recovery fund to help residents affected by the June 2024 flooding—officials are collecting community feedback on updating the outdated flood plan. The South Dakota Supreme Court is set to hear arguments today regarding a planned canal project by Mike Chicoine, which the McCook Lake Association challenges over water rights permit issues.
