- ➤ Sioux City Farmers Market will kick off on Saturday, May 3 at 8 a.m. when the signature triangle bell rings at the Tyson Events Center Suite Parking Lot, and shoppers will find fresh produce, coffee, live music and handmade creations from local vendors. The market will operate every Saturday and Wednesday through Oct. 25 to offer early-season goods to the community. KTIV

- ➤ A school bus in rural Woodbury County left the road near 290th Street and Benton Avenue on Tuesday afternoon and entered a shallow ditch, with quick thinking by the students aiding the driver—no students were injured and the driver’s condition has not been released. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ Firefighters responded Tuesday to a house fire at a home on the 900 block of Pacquette Avenue in the Riverside neighborhood—crews found the residence unoccupied with two cats inside as the fire spread to the attic, and the cause remains under investigation. SiouxlandProud

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Sioux City Community School District board approved wage increases for teachers and support staff on April 30—union agreements will take effect on July 1 with a $360 base salary boost for teachers, a 51-cent-per-hour increase for support personnel, and a 3% raise for operating engineers, while non-union workers will see a 3% increase in FY2026.
