- ➤ A firefighter—who fell through the floor while fighting a blaze at a Morningside home—was taken to a Sioux City hospital after his fall on Tuesday morning. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ The Orpheum Theatre announced its 2025-26 Broadway At The Orpheum season on Tuesday — it features seven Broadway shows. Sioux City Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Iowa farmers have planted 76% of corn and 64% of soybean acres so far, putting them more than a week ahead of last year while 30% of corn and 16% of soybean acres have emerged. The U.S. Department of Agriculture report said colder rain led to spotty corn emergence — causing some farmers to replant affected areas while overall soil moisture stayed adequate. KTIV
- ➤ Farmers in Siouxland face higher costs this planting season as tariffs on foreign goods have raised prices for feed and farm chemicals, a northwest Iowa distribution center said. Tim Bjordal explained that many ag retailers ordered early to avoid tariff hikes+ and some farmers are switching to cheaper generic alternatives. KTIV

- ➤ On Monday, the Iowa Senate passed a bill to change eminent domain rules for a carbon capture pipeline by a 27+22 vote and the measure is now headed to Gov. Reynolds for her signature. Farmer Kathy Stockdale and others say the bill could better protect property rights as the governor reviews it. KTIV
