  • Summit Carbon Solutions is refining its proposed carbon pipeline in Iowa today by cutting 200 miles from its planned route and removing over 400 landowners from the project footprint + it will carry CO2 west through Nebraska to a sequestration site in Wyoming.  KTIV

  • Local author Greg Pranke is setting his crime novel on Lower Fourth Street as it was 40 years ago when small bars and a host of interesting personalities defined the area. The book offers a fresh look at the street’s former lively scene.  Sioux City Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Summit Carbon Solutions announced a reduction of its proposed pipeline mileage — it will shift routes in Crawford, Dickinson, Sioux, and Floyd counties and remove planned paths in Adams, Fremont, Mitchell, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, and Worth counties.  Sioux City Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The USDA announced updated rules for the 'Product of USA' label in Iowa that require meat, poultry and eggs to be raised, grown and processed entirely in the country. Iowa food systems and cattle producers say the change (closing a loophole) builds consumer trust.  KTIV
  • Ted Waitt, co-founder of Gateway and former Sioux City businessman, testified in April before the House Oversight Committee in Washington (transcript now released) as part of an investigation linked to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. He is not accused of any wrongdoing.  KTIV

HEALTH NEWS

  • UnityPoint Clinic has expanded its urgent care hours at Dakota Dunes and Marketplace locations — Mondays and Fridays now run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer improved patient access.  Sioux City Journal
