GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Representative Randy Feenstra held his annual picnic in Sioux Center on Friday where he spoke about his work on the Big Beautiful Bill that cuts taxes and adds funding for border security—he did not mention plans to run for governor and is working to build statewide support.  KTIV
  • Governor Kim Reynolds is reviewing two election bills that would change how Iowa checks voter citizenship and runs recounts for the 2026 elections. One bill would mark registrations as unconfirmed for voters who do not provide proof and the other sets new recount thresholds and bans ranked-choice voting—steps meant to reduce past voter verification issues.  KTIV
  • Rep. Randy Feenstra hosted his fourth annual Family Picnic at the Dean Classic Car Museum in Sioux Center yesterday; he did not confirm running for governor while focusing on his economic legislation, including the 'One Big Beautiful Bill.'
