At Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City, a plus-sized clothing store will permanently close on June 24 as part of a company plan to cut underperforming stores—CEO Lisa Harper stated that nearly 180 locations will be shuttered in 2025 as digital sales grow.

Some GOP lawmakers plan a special session to override her decision—while Summit said it will work with landowners to adjust its plans.

The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors approved a $65,000 allocation for repairs at Little Sioux Park’s boat ramp — damaged by the June 2024 flooding.

Work on the ramp is expected to begin next month — FEMA has already approved the funds for reimbursement.
