- ➤ Zena, a 2 to 3 year old calico cat found on the 3400 block of Athlone Avenue with her four kittens, is now available for adoption—she has helped her kittens find homes and the rescue is looking for homes for additional animals. SiouxlandProud
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Vandalism to the Freedom Rock was discovered Thursday at Siouxland Freedom Park — Parks Director Gene Maffit said staff found evidence of the act. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ A Sioux City man was sentenced to federal prison after a May 2023 search of his residence uncovered 271 grams of meth and 155 grams of cocaine plus smaller amounts of marijuana and other drugs, as federal prosecutors held him accountable for selling meth. Sioux City Journal
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Sioux City's own musician Ralph Dittman will join this year’s Saturday in the Park main stage lineup, with acts Banda Nueva Tradicion and Exit 141 also added to the event. Headliner Teddy Swims will perform alongside Mavis Staples, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram and local group GhostCat—an update posted on June 12 confirms the exciting mix of talent set for the show.
