Good morning, Sioux City.

The city held a pop-up park event yesterday at Mid-City Park with a bouncy house, fire truck tour and free nutrition class sign-ups, and will host another event on July 14 with games and hot dogs (at Dale Street).

Jerry Peterson, owner of King Kong Fireworks, predicts a surge in sales as the community prepares for its 250th celebration later this year.

The milestone is expected to boost local interest in fireworks displays.
