  • Saturday in the Park is set for July 5 at Grandview Park and will feature at least 20 food vendors selling items such as shaved ice, pizzas and BBQ—organizers have provided a full vendor list.  SiouxlandProud
  • A group of 11 members from Sioux City's Congregation Beth Shalom returned to the US after fleeing missile strikes in Israel when canceled flights forced them to take an extended route via Jordan, Oman, and Cyprus—three members are still delayed due to technical issues and lost luggage.  KTIV

  • Levo Credit Union will hold a grand opening Thursday at its new Sioux City branch at 4530 Singing Hills Blvd—its ribbon cutting ceremony will mark the launch of the branch.  Sioux City Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sioux City Schools Superintendent Rod Earleywine held his final board meeting on Monday and thanked the district for its support—his last day is June 30. He expressed gratitude for his time serving the schools and closing this chapter in his career.  Sioux City Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Woodbury County Emergency Management is tracking forecasts that predict two to four inches of rain over the next 24 to 48 hours in Sioux City, and they warn that heavy rains may cause localized ponding & street flooding in low-lying areas. Officials note that widespread flooding is not expected and advise residents to avoid driving through flooded roads.  KTIV

HEALTH NEWS

  • UnityPoint — St. Luke's plans to buy MercyOne Siouxland and experts say hospital mergers can lead to higher prices for patients as reduced local competition often drives up costs by 5—7 percent. Details of the summer deal remain unknown after MercyOne and UnityPoint — St. Luke's declined to comment on specific terms.  Sioux City Journal
