- ➤ City officials announced that shuttle service will be available on July 5—helping concert-goers travel from Tyson Events Center to Grandview Park for Saturday in the Park—and riders must purchase return trip tokens in advance because bus tickets are cash only with no change. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ Nebraska launched its summer food program to offer free meals to kids ages 1 to 18 through the USDA initiative. In South Sioux City the Salvation Army Western Plains Camp serves breakfast from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m., lunch from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. and supper from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. through July 24 — Covington Elementary offers weekday breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through July 31 — South Sioux City Middle School provides weekday meals with breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until today. - ➤ Eleven Sioux City residents have returned from Israel after their trip turned dangerous amid missile strikes; three arrived Tuesday, three Wednesday, and the rest are set to arrive later today—organized by Grey Bull Rescue. The group faced early warnings, disruptions, and delays during their escape from a war zone. KTIV

- ➤ Sioux City launched a new downtown tenant improvement program that gives business owners money back for renovations in first floor spaces; retail tenants can get up to $45,000 and restaurant tenants up to $60,000 while property owners must pay at least 25 percent of the cost. - ➤ Knife River Midwest agreed to pay the Department of Natural Resources $10,000—further tests will be conducted at its hot mix asphalt plant at 2220 Hawkeye Drive to check if emissions limits are met. Sioux City Journal

- ➤ Siouxlanders attended a fraud prevention session at Stoney Creek Hotel on Thursday where Iowa Fraud Fighters taught locals to spot online and phone scams. The presenters shared key tips to avoid romance fraud and impersonation schemes + urged everyone to verify urgent payment requests. KTIV
- ➤ The Iowa DNR is launching Operation Dry Water from July 4 to 6 to keep boaters safe and prevent substance-impaired boating — officials note that last year more than 5,000 boaters were contacted and 477 citations were issued. SiouxlandProud
- ➤ Starting July 1, Iowa will enforce a law that bans drivers from holding or manually operating electronic devices while driving. Sioux City police advise using voice commands or mounted devices—warnings will be issued on the first day and fines will begin on January 1. KTIV
