Good morning, Sioux City.
🏘️ Community
A silent auction held at Pierce Mansion honored Lori, a native woman murdered in 1992 whose unsolved case remains at the heart of the indigenous missing crisis.
The auction—titled Voices for Lori: A Justice and Awareness Campaign—raised funds for a memorial billboard to keep attention on her case and support healing in Siouxland.
Union County Long Term Recovery Group hosted a free outreach event Saturday at Jefferson Park Speedway to support residents and thank volunteers following June 2024 flooding in Sioux City—offering food, drinks, live music, raffles, and activities.
The event ended with a massive firework display and aimed to unite the community in its recovery efforts.
🎓 Education
On Saturday, the Woodbury County farm bureau hosted its 7th annual tractor ride near Sloan as participants rode a scenic route (50-60 miles) to raise funds for Siouxland agriculture classrooms; officials already planned next year’s ride.
