- ➤ Boys and Girls Home in Sioux City was founded in 1894 by a Civil War widow and now helps children and families cope with trauma through over 500 therapy sessions monthly—serving as a safe haven with residential treatment and family services. The center currently houses 30 children and will soon expand with a new facility and school building opening in October to serve 12 more kids on the waiting list while welcoming local volunteers. - ➤ Card collectors gathered at the inaugural Tri-State Siouxtacular Card Show over the weekend at the Sioux City convention center—150 vendors participated and more than 1,000 visitors attended the three-day event that featured autograph signings by Luka Garza and Alexis Markowski. SiouxlandProud

- ➤ A silent auction titled 'Voices for Lori: A Justice & Awareness Campaign' was held at the Pierce Mansion to honor a beloved Native woman whose unsolved 1992 murder is linked to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis — the event raised funds for a memorial billboard — and united the local community.
