CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Sioux City man, Romario Pierre-Louis, pleaded guilty on March 6 to possessing a firearm as a felon after he allegedly pointed a gun at people during an October 15, 2024 disturbance and was sentenced on July 18 to five years and three months in prison plus a three-year supervised release—authorities recovered his concealed weapons from a neighbor’s home. - ➤ Mural artist Ray “Bubba” Sorensen is launching his Medal of Honor Murals project in Sioux City, where his first mural honoring Brigadier General George “Bud” Day will be installed along Highway 20 to commemorate 66 Iowa Medal of Honor recipients. He is working with the Iowa DOT—planning placements on 16-foot-tall by 8-foot-wide concrete columns and seeking corporate sponsors so the project can be completed before America’s 250th birthday.
