COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Sioux City's 11th annual Mestizo MC Ride-in Bike Show took place Saturday at the Firehouse Bar with motorcyclists, food vendors, and music filling the streets, starting with a pancake breakfast at 10 A.M. Participants registered for seven bike classes and donated to Siouxland Support Soldiers—demonstrating strong community support.  SiouxlandProud
  • Golfers and their dogs teed off Saturday at Covington Links Golf Course in South Sioux City to support Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue. The 15th annual event offered a chance to meet adoptable pets—bringing the neighborhood together—and celebrated strong local support.  SiouxlandProud

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A new BNSF railway bridge spanning the Big Sioux River between Sioux City and North Sioux City nears completion and will resume service by late summer—a company spokesperson said.  Sioux City Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Downtown Sioux City hosted the 9th annual Historic 4th St. Classic Car Show and Cruise on Saturday, where over 100 vehicles drew car enthusiasts and visitors voted for their top five favorites while trophies went to the top three—free will donations were collected for the Food Bank of Siouxland.  SiouxlandProud

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sioux City Council spent over five hours on Thursday and Friday interviewing three finalists, Eric Swanson, Craig Clark, and Andrew Barden, for the permanent city manager role to replace former manager Bob Padmore who retired in April. Mayor Pro Tem said officials expect to choose a new leader by the end of July or by Aug. 4.  Sioux City Journal
