- ➤ On August 20, the Sioux City Farmers Market hosted its first-ever Planted and Plated fundraiser in Downtown Sioux City where local cooks served a meal with five courses made using market produce — all funds raised will support the market and the Food Bank of Siouxland. The event united local vendors and diners with plans to become an annual tradition. KTIV

- ➤ SkyWest Airlines announced Friday that Sioux City airport will add a second daily nonstop flight to Denver starting Jan. 6, 2026 — giving passengers more travel choices. Sioux City Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Missouri River Historical Development awarded $1.2 million in grants to three organizations to boost services and improve quality of life in Woodbury County. Agape Community Services got $250,000, Moville Community Development received $450,000 and Siouxland Sports Academy earned $500,000 — funds that will help support local community projects. KTIV

- ➤ Briar Cliff University announced Thursday it reached a $10M fundraising goal for its Foundations for the Future Comprehensive Campaign—a milestone that marks a key achievement in its long-term education plans. Sioux City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two downtown bridges reopened early Friday as part of a 100 day project that began on May 19—City Engineer Gordon Phair said minor railings and paint work would continue through the middle of September to support the Gordon Drive viaduct project set for 2027. KTIV
