- ➤ The Missouri River Boat Club held its first Dennis Butler memorial Fun Run fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 23 to honor the late club member and encourage community time by the river. Participants traveled by boat, bike, car, or motorcycle to several local spots including the Sioux City Marina — showing the effort to bring life back to our river. KTIV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sioux City Public Schools approved a leave of absence for new superintendent Dr. Juan Córdova, whose first day was July 1, and the board said it will work to ensure a smooth start to the school year beginning Aug. 25. The district did not provide additional details on his leave—officials said they will update the community as needed. KTIV

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Riverside Park — Fundraising participation fee — Enjoy a fun-filled day with food, pet contests, and adoptable pets while supporting the Siouxland Humane Society.

6:30 PM — Siouxland Expo Center — Registration fees apply — Sioux City’s premier running event with races for all ages including kids, 5K, 10K, and half marathon.
