Starting Sept. 1, the Sioux City Railroad Museum will be open only on weekends—Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.—due to unresolved flood damage and repair costs exceeding $2 million.

The museum also urges local support through donations and volunteer work to help preserve its railroad history.

Pillen argued that large companies should help cover costs & local leaders emphasized pursuing federal funds and a flood protection study along the Big Sioux River.
