- ➤ Radiant Life Community Food Pantry delivers food bags every month to seniors at an apartment complex, with 45 residents receiving help and neighbors sharing the bags—volunteers pack a mix of nonperishable and fresh items to fight food insecurity. The service, which began after a snowstorm, also reaches 12 homebound residents in Sioux City. KTIV
- ➤ Sioux Center will host the free 2025 Harvest Festival on Friday, September 12 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and Saturday, September 13 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at 701 Second Avenue SW. Board members John Scholten and Larry Te Grotenhuis said the event will feature live demonstrations, updated parking instructions and ride assistance, plus a tour with 16 schools on Friday. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Andrew Hulstein, a 37-year-old man from Paullina, was arrested on Sunday for felony eluding after a pursuit that began on August 4th when he evaded an officer and exited into South Dakota—he faces a preliminary hearing on September 9th and remains in jail with bonds set at $10,000 for eluding and $20,000 for violating parole. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ River Valley High School in Correctionville is sharing sports programs with nearby schools because of low enrollment, and it has a new agreement for football in Ida Grove for this season. The school also shares track and cross country teams with Kingsley-Pierson and Woodbury Central—steps that allow all students to keep playing. Sioux City Journal
