A National Honor Society project at Sioux City East High School created sensory bags that help first responders support individuals with sensory issues.

The kits include earphones, sunglasses, pictographs in English and Spanish, and a whiteboard with dry erase markers—officials say they ease communication in emergencies.

Little Sioux Park has seen nearly two years of work that added a new concession stand, kayak rentals, upgraded sewer hookups, fiber optic wi-fi, and resurfaced roads—Director Dan Heissel said the park is now unmatched in the region.
