  • The Food Bank of Siouxland held its annual award ceremony on Wednesday at Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor in Le Mars—honoring volunteers like Becky and Kevin Linder and agencies such as Grace United Methodist Church and CAP of Cherokee. Former executive director Linda Scheid attended as Seaboard Triumph Foods received the Linda Scheid Legacy Award.  KTIV

  • Thursday night, Tony Gomez (owner of Gomez Pallet) was honored by the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce at their annual dinner at the Sioux City Convention Center, more than 50 years after he immigrated to the United States.  Sioux City Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The FAA granted Morningside University's request to allow lower flight-hour requirements so graduates can qualify for airline pilot positions—this authorization will help students enter aviation more easily.  Sioux City Journal
