- ➤ Morningside University started a new enterprise called Morningside-Raised Beef — a student-run project that gives hands-on learning in beef production. Students will manage daily tasks to gain real-world skills in the program. Sioux City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Farmer Kyle Larsen ended his campaign for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District on Monday—citing family priorities and high campaign costs—as he endorsed Chris McGowan, who shares his commitment to Iowa farms and family values. KTIV
- ➤ The League of Women Voters will host candidate forums—one for Sioux City Council and one for the Sioux City Community School District Board of Directors—on Oct. 8. Sioux City Journal
- ➤ Christiansen Commercial Contracting Inc. from Pender, Nebraska has filed a lawsuit claiming the city owes $618,000 because it did not make the Grandview Park tank project site available as the contract required—resulting in increased costs. Sioux City Journal
