  • The Sioux City Stampede PRCA Rodeo is set to feature bull riding, barrel racing, and more at the Tyson Events Center from Feb. 14-15, 2025, with tickets going on sale soon.  Sioux City Journal

  • Sioux City promotes Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program to support fair competition and participation in federally funded transportation projects for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.  SiouxlandProud

  • Early voting in Iowa begins with a reduced period for mail and in-person ballots due to new state legislation, leading to lower absentee ballot requests compared to previous elections.  Sioux City Journal
  • The Sioux City Council is set to approve a Construction Manager at Risk for wastewater plant improvements and to consider vacating part of Chautauqua Park.  Sioux City Journal
  • The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors declined a funding request from The Warming Shelter, maintaining their policy of not providing funds to local nonprofits unless for federal leverage or through passthrough funding.  Sioux City Journal
  • Woodbury County Sheriff Chad Sheehan commended his team for efficiently relocating over 200 inmates to a new jail facility without any significant incidents.  Sioux City Journal
  • The general contractor for the Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center, Hausmann Construction, missed the final completion deadline, but remaining issues are not affecting the facility's operations.  Sioux City Journal
